Cisco Compatible SFP+ 10GBASE-BX20-U BiDi 1270nm-TX/1330nm-RX 20km DOM Simplex LC/UPC SMF Optical Transceiver Module BiDi  SFP+

Cisco Compatible SFP+ transceiver supports up to 20km over OS2 SMF via an LC simplex connector. This 10G BiDi SFP+ transceiver features data transmission over a single strand of fiber; the one transceiver transmits a 1270-nm channel and receives a 1330-nm signal, whereas the other BiDi SFP+ optics transmits at a 1330-nm wavelength and receive a 1270-nm signal.

Digital diagnostics can also be used through the I2C interface designated by SFF-8472 to allow access to real-time operating parameters. The primary difference from traditional duplex optical modules is that the BiDi optical module operates as a simplex module allowing the customer to double the utilization of the existing fiber. Besides, a bidirectional transceiver doubles the amount of network equipment that can be attached to the same set of 4 fibers, compared to regular transceivers.

Q: While emailing, I have another question: are the 10GBASE bidi XFP compatible with the 10GBASE bidi SFP+ transceivers? So XFP-10G-BX 1330nm-TX/1270nm-RX on one end and SFP-10G-BX 1270nm-TX/1330nm-RX on the other end or the other way around?
