The NVIDIA InfiniBand MMA1B00-E100 Compatible transceiver is a 4-channel, pluggable, QSFP28 optical transceiver designed

for use in 100GbE links with up to 100m reach on multimode fibers. The optical interface is composed of four optical

channels/fibers in each direction, intended for a parallel MMF cable via a standard MPO connector. Each channel/fiber operates

at signaling rates up to 25.78125GBd. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand EDR end-to-end systems.

It is the ideal solution for supercomputing, seamlessly integrating into computing and storage infrastructure to ensure efficient

high-performance interconnectivity. Used in SB7800/SB7890 switches and ConnectX-5 adapters.

A:  This transceiver can support a maximum distance of up to 70 meters over OM3 multimode fiber and up to 100 meters over

OM4 multimode fiber.

Q:  The price difference between 100G QSFP28 SR4 and 100G QSFP28 BIDI is significant. What is the difference between the

suitable application scenarios of these two transceivers?

A:  The 100G QSFP28 BIDI transceiver has a duplex LC interface suitable for short distance wiring connections in data centers,

with a maximum connection distance of up to 150m; 100G QSFP28 SR4 has an MTP interface suitable for short distance cabling

connections in data centers, with a maximum connection distance of up to 100m.

If the network requirements are upgraded from the original 10G or 25G to 100G, because 10G or 25G network cabling is mainly

based on LC duplex multimode fiber, if you use a conventional 100G QSFP28 SR4 optical module, you need to use MPO 8-core or

12-core multimode fiber. On the basis of the original wiring, major adjustments have been made, and the cost is extremely high.

100G BIDI can effectively save the cost of fiber optic infrastructure and is widely used in the field of data centers.

Q:  Is it necessary to clean a transceiver's optical connector? How to clean the QSFP-SR4-100GE transceivers?
