NVIDIA/Mellanox Compatible 400GBASE-DR4 QSFP112 PAM4 InfiniBand NDR Optical Transceiver Module (SMF, 1310nm, 500m, MPO-12/APC, DOM)
The NVIDIA/Mellanox Compatible QSFP112 InfiniBand NDR Optical Transceiver is an InfiniBand 400Gb/s Single-port QSFP112, DR4 single-mode parallel transceiver using a single, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connector. The Reach 4-channel (DR4) design uses 100G-PAM4 modulation and has a maximum fiber reach of 500-meters using OS2 single mode fibers. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand NDR end-to-end systems. It is the ideal solution for supercomputing, seamlessly integrating into computing and storage infrastructure to ensure efficient high-performance interconnectivity. Used in ConnectX-7/QSFP112 adapters linked to Twin-port transceivers in 2x400G IB switches.

Q: What is the difference between Q112-DR4-400G and QDD-DR4-400G/OSFPDR4-400G?
A: The biggest difference is in the packing. QSFP112 and OSFP use 4x100G/lane, whereas QSFP-DD uses 8x50G/lane. Additionally, compared to QSFP-DD and QSFP112, the OSFP form factor is bigger.
Q: Is it possible to use this module on an OSFP port?
A: No, it is not possible. The QSFP112-DR4-400G module and the OSFP port have different form factors and electrical interfaces, so they cannot be used directly.
Q: Is the QSFP112 port backward compatible?
A: Traditional QSFP 40G (4x10G), 100G (4x25G), and 200G (4x56G-PAM4) modules and cables can be backward compatible with the QSFP112 port.
