Q: Why do I need to choose a BD transceiver? What is the main difference between the BIDI module and the conventional optical module?
A: The primary difference from traditional duplex optical modules is that the BiDi optical module operates as a simplex module allowing the customer to double the utilization of the existing fiber. Besides, bidirectional transceiver doubles the amount of network equipment that can be attached to the same set of 4 fibers, compared to regular transceivers.

A: Hello, the two modules are different in form factor, but they can be used together as long as the rates and transmission distances are the same. The XFP-10G-BX 1330nm-TX/1270nm-RX can be uesd with the SFP-10G-BX 1270nm-TX/1330nm-RX.
