Product Description
NVIDIA InfiniBand MMA4Z00-NS-FLT Compatible OSFP 800G SR8 PAM4 Optical Transceiver (2x SR4, MMF, 850nm,
100m, Dual MPO-12/APC, DOM, Flat Top)
The NVIDIA InfiniBand MMA4Z00-NS-FLT Compatible OSFP Optical Transceiver is an InfiniBand 800Gb/s 2x400Gb/s Twin-port
OSFP, SR8 multimode, parallel, 8-channel transceiver using two, 2-fiber, 4-channel MPO-12/APC optical connectors at 400Gb/s
each. The parallel multimode, short reach 8-channel (SR8) uses 100G-PAM4 modulation and has a maximum fiber reach of 50-
meters using 8 multimode fibers. It is qualified for use in InfiniBand NDR end-to-end systems.
It is the ideal solution for supercomputing and HPC industries, seamlessly integrating into computing and storage infrastructure
to ensure efficient high-performance interconnectivity. The flat-top version is suitable for liquid-cooled and DGX H100/Cedar-7
system links.

Q: What is the difference between Flat top and Finned-top OSFP 800G 2xSR4 optical modules?
A: The "Flat Top" 800G OSFP module is mainly used in the DGX H100's 800G Twin-port OSFP cages, which have internal heat
sinks mounted on top of the cages. The "Finned Top" optical module form factor utilizes a module top design with heat sink fins to
increase heat dissipation and improve module performance and reliability in high-temperature environments. It is typically used
in Quantum-2 air-cooled switches for additional cooling due to the reduced airflow inlet in the switch.
Q: Can an IB optical module be connected to an Ethernet optical module?
A: No, it is not possible. The optical modules on both ends need to be of the same type, either IB optical modules or Ethernet
optical modules.
Q: If hypothetically we had a problem where we don't know if the issue is with the modules or with the Mellanox switches, or
maybe Mellanox switch failure due to the module's problem, would you provide us technical support?
A: Of course. No matter what problem you have, you can just contact us directly. Mvslink will provide technical support: including
switch and network configuration services to help you find out and solve problems.
