This 10G BiDi SFP+ transceiver features data transmission over a single strand of fiber; the one transceiver transmits a 1270-nm channel and receives a 1330-nm signal, whereas the other BiDi SFP+ optic transmits at a 1330-nm wavelength and receives a 1270-nm signal.

A: The primary difference from traditional duplex optical modules is that the BiDi optical module operates as a simplex module, allowing the customer to double the utilization of the existing fiber. Besides, a bidirectional transceiver doubles the amount of network equipment that can be attached to the same set of 4 fibers, compared to regular transceivers.
Q: Whether this transceiver is having both transmitter and receiver at one single point?
A: Yes, this module is a single fiber bidirectional module that utilizes wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology for bidirectional transmission.
Q: Since it is simplex, does it transmit at the wavelength of 1270 nm from End A to End B and receive at the wavelength of 1330 nm from End B to End A at two different times?
A: Filtering is accomplished through the filters in the optical module while simultaneously transmitting the TX optical signal and receiving the RX optical signal, or vice versa.
